Youth Ministries
Our youth have a place where they can be themselves and discover God’s love. Our gatherings are built on respect and care for one another, and living our faith every day.
The First United Methodist youth ministry includes weekly Sunday School classes for 6th through 8th graders, and evening groups called UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship). In the past years our youth have performed in church plays, served meals to the homeless, waterslides at Great Wolfe Lodge, participated in fun games and thoughtful discussions, and repaired homes for needy families as well numerous community service projects. Annually our Senior High Youth Group spend a week of their summer on a mission trip through Sierra Service Project. All of this happens in groups that meet weekly and emphasize fun, caring, and support.
Youth Groups Meetings Start Sunday, September 15, 2024 - Contact Dawn Mallory for info.

Summer 2024 our youth had a great time serving in Chiloquin, OR. While there we worked on building railings on a porch, stairs, painting and fencing. We also worked on a community project at Collier State Park clearing an area damaged during a 2020 wildfire. We were able to reopen a picnic area after removing downed trees and debris.

Summer of 2023 we traveled to Crescent City in Del Norte County. We served the community on varies projects and partnered with the Tolowa Dunes Stewards to remove invasive species as well as maintaining trails in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
